PORTO SURF COMPANY
Our company is based on the common idea of creating a place in the North of Portugal, where surfers, beach lovers and friends of urban experiences and culture can unite and find a place to enjoy together a surf holiday in a relaxed and family atmosphere. For this we do have two different locations in Porto: One is located in the center of Porto and one is located right at the beach, 25 kilometers further north.

OUR STORY
THE BEGINNING
The PORTO SURF COMPANY (PSC) was founded by the three surf friends Hugo Taipa, João Cavalho and Stefan Strauss. They not only have been passionate surfers themselves for decades, they also dedicated their whole life to this sport by living and working in the global home of surfing. Each of them had focused on his individual area, such as professional surfing and the organization of surf competitions, writing surf and travel literature, managing and organizing surf schools and surf camps as well as combining surf tour and travel components to create packages for surf holiday. In 2015 they finally decided to combine their knowledge and experiences to found the PORTO SURF COMPANY.
TODAY
Today the PORTO SURF COMPANY consists of a team, comprising experts for water sports like surfing and SUP, professional instructors, passionate surfers, nature lovers and tourism experts as well as guides and competent service staff. We attach great importance to the holidays of our guests and participants while making their stay as perfect as possible. Surf school, SUP tours or the surf camp (at the moment closed) – in all areas we work with commitment, passion and expertise to assure you an unforgettable surf and vacation experience.
QUALITY AND SAFETY
Besides passion and commitment, quality and safety are also our top priorities. During your stay you can totally relax and completely rely on the whole team. All our coaches, instructors and guides are trained and licensed to international standards and very familiar with the local conditions. Specially trained to ensure your safety in the water, you don´t have to worry about anything but concentrate on surfing. Our friendly beach lodge crew will make you feel like home anytime, bring you closer to Portuguese culture and the local life.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is an important concern for us. In all areas of the Porto Surf Company we are therefore constantly striving to act as environmentally friendly as possible in order to minimize our ecological impact, step by step. To this end, we regularly evaluate our operating processes and try to cover them with eco-friendly alternatives without compromising on service quality and comfort for our guests. Our measures for sustainability have an impact on purchasing, the reduction and recycling of our waste, cleaning, use of energy as well as on social aspects. At Porto Beach Lodge, our efforts for sustainable tourism 2020 have also been rewarded with the Green Key certification, one of the leading international eco-labels in the tourism industry.
